Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 107:1-43. Verse 2 KJV, in what specific way, from what and for what, has God redeemed me? Whom can I tell about it this very day?
Exodus 40:1-38. Verses 36 and 37, the cloud signals Israel when to go or stay. Absent such a clear signal, how shall discern God’s leading on big decisions I face?
Jeremiah 31:31-34. Verse 34, if after forgiving me, God forgets my sin, should I also forget it? Doesn’t that risk backsliding? Prayer point?
John 15:9-17. Verse 11, how would I explain to a young person, untaught in Scripture, the difference between the joy Jesus gives and the happiness or pleasure the world gives?
