Bible Sunday 6/9: Pentecost

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 51:1-19. Verse 17, when have I come before God heartbroken over my own disobedience to him? What did I learn? Present application?

Joel 2:1-32. Verse 25, a famous promise of how God can compensate us for a painful past. How shall I pray this for myself or for someone in need?

Acts 2:1-21. Holy Spirit erases communication barriers. How can my church participate in the miracle of Pentecost? My role?

John 16:5-15. Verse 14, what can the Holy Spirit show me or teach me about Jesus that isn’t already available in Scripture? Is there an urgent question I should bring him (them) today?
