Bible Friday 6/21: The Cross

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 91:1-16. Verse 3, what are some traps I might need God to protect me from today? What forms of spiritual contagion shall I ask him to immunize me against?

Leviticus 11:1-47. These dietary rules being inapplicable to the Christian (Acts 10:15), what lesson can I take allegorically about wholesome vs. unwholesome nourishment of my mind and heart under God?

I Corinthians 15:50-57. Do I honestly believe that for myself and my loved ones, death is swallowed up in victory? How can I “feed” on this truth more receptively today?

John 19:17-30. Verses 26 and 27, with his dying breath, Jesus pays honor to Mary his mother. What honor shall I pay her today?
