Bible Friday 9/27: Deep Roots

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 92:1-15. Verses 12-14 KJV, planted in the house of the Lord. By what attitudes and actions can I show myself to be planted in God today?

I Chronicles 2:1-55. Genealogy from Jacob to David and beyond. In my birth family, who has been more of a blessing and less of a blessing to me? In my adoptive family of Christ, who is especially dear to me? Prayer point?

II Corinthians 5:12-21. Verse 17, what is new in me as a result of committing my life to Jesus? What old things has he removed from me? What’s old in me that has yet to be made new? First step today?

Luke 8:4-10. Related question, measuring by attitudes or by different areas of my daily life, what are the fertile and infertile patches of soil for Christ’s seed? Action point?
