Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 42:1-11. Verse 5, what am I downcast or disquieted about right now, that I can beg God’s help for?
Deuteronomy 17:1-20. Verses 14-20, kingship under scriptural authority and the fear of God. What relevance to a secular republic such as we live in? What role for my church? My role?
Hebrews 9:11-15. Verse 14, how can 2020 be a different year for me under the blood of Christ, than it would be without the blood of Christ? Is this automatic or does it require something of me?
Matthew 5:38-42. What opportunity can I find today to turn the other cheek to someone, or to go the extra mile when it seems unfair? Why does this please Jesus?
