Bible Tuesday 1/7: Delighted

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 18:1-50. Verses 16-19 KJV, is it hard to believe the Lord delights in me? Why would he? What’s the best evidence I’ve had that he does?

Deuteronomy 7:1-26. How can I reconcile God’s severity toward the heathen in this chapter with Jesus’ later command to love our enemies—and with today’s ideas of tolerance and religious freedom?

Titus 1:1-16. Verses 6-9, qualifications of church leaders. Whom do I admire as an example of this? What personal goal does this suggest to me?

John 1:29-34. What does the Lamb of God expect of me today? What does he warn me from?
