Wednesday 11/4: Immovable

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 16:1-11. Verse 8 KJV, what worldly factors are moving me toward elation or dejection today? How can I put all that in perspective by keeping the Lord close at hand?

Isaiah 9:1-21. Verses 6 and 7, related question, if true government is ultimately upon Jesus’ shoulder, how shall I and my family and friends proceed as Christian citizens in a storm-tossed nation?

I Thessalonians 2:13-20. Verses 14-16, in what ways will my church soon face disapproval, resistance, or even persecution? What will this demand of me?

Luke 16:19-31. Who needs to hear from me about the issues of heaven and hell and the salvation offered us through Jesus Christ crucified and risen? First step?
