Bible Friday 12/18: Manger and Cross

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 119:49-88. Verse 59 KJV, in what way recently have I changed course for God, turned my feet in his direction?

Isaiah 53:1-12. God’s Messiah as a suffering servant. How am I spiritually benefited by reflecting on Jesus’ death at this season of celebrating his birth?

Revelation 18:9-20. Babylon’s downfall spells economic ruin. What vested interests of money, prestige, and power are threatened by Jesus’ message to humanity? Is any part of me also threatened?

Luke 23:44-56. Verses 47 and 50, related question, who among the rich and powerful in my community may be feeling the need for Christ? What am I doing about it?
