Bible Thursday 12/24: Spoken to Us

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 133:1-3. Rejoicing in the Savior’s birth and basing my whole life on that, how can I move into closer unity with my family, fellow believers, neighbors, and fellow Americans? First step?

Isaiah 59:1-21. Verse 1, recognizing that God’s hand is able and his ear is willing, what big, bold, unreserved prayer shall I bring before his throne on this Christmas Eve 2020?

Hebrews 1:1-14. Verses 10-12, how does Jesus’ coming, the events at Bethlehem, change the heartache of Christmases long past, or this strange Covid Christmas, into “tidings of comfort and joy” for me?

Matthew 1:1-17. Related, with Jesus having said that Abraham “rejoiced to see my day” (John 8:56), how does that assure me there are a divine reality and a divine plan enfolding all the troubles and struggles of right now?
