Bible Wednesday 5/13: Battle Ready

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 30:1-12. Verses 5 and 11, how do these promises help me intensity my prayers for God to alleviate the struggles, sufferings, and sorrows of this pandemic?

Ezekiel 33:1-33. Verse 7, who serves as God’s watchman to warn me, my family, and my church? What obstructs my full attention and obedience to the warnings? Should I too watch and warn?

I Corinthians 14:1-13. Verse 8, related question, what is the real battle facing Christians right now, underlying the medical, economic, and social effects of Covid? What trumpet call should I listen for? What’s at stake?

John 8:13-20. Verse 19, by what attitudes and actions can I stay close to God the Father all day today? How will the day be different? What will others notice?
