Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 27:1-14. Verse 3 KJV, what is the war now engulfing me and all God’s people? Why are we able to be confident and not fearful?
II Samuel 8:1-18. Verses 6 and 14, God favors King David. Verse 11, David glorifies God. How can America or any pluralistic modern nation move toward this model? My church’s role?
Acts 12:20-25. King Herod glorifies himself and is struck down. Again, any relevance to the world of 2020? Any warning to Christian citizens?
Mark 7:24-30. Verse 27, today as I seek Jesus’ help with urgent needs, what test of my humility and faith might he be placing before me?
