Bible Monday 8/31: To Arms

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 149:1-9. Verse 6 KJV, recognizing that my spiritual sword is God’s word, what use shall I make of that weapon today, and what specific truths of God’s word shall I take in hand?

II Kings 14:1-29. Verse 6, individual responsibility before God. How is this principle being ignored in our world today, and what are the consequences? What is my church doing about it?

Job 7:1-21. When have I barraged God with questions and received no answer? What did I learn? Present application?

Luke 5:12-16. What person or class of persons am I tempted to shun as lepers were shunned? What practical steps can I instead take to draw near them with Christ’s love?
