Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 68:1-35. Verse 5 KJV, father of the fatherless. Is God saying the supposedly unwanted child should be killed in the womb, or brought into the world and cared for? What is my church doing about abortion?
Genesis 25:1-34. Isaac’s dysfunctional family. What work of God in my family relationships do I look back upon with gratitude today, or look forward to with supplication for His intervention?
Hebrews 10:11-25. Verse 25, assembling of believers not to be neglected. Why does God insist on this? How has prioritizing it blessed me, or slighting it harmed me? Action point?
Matthew 8:14-22. Verse 21, what excuses have I been making to Jesus lately? At what cost to myself and others? Action point?
