Bible Sunday 2/7: His Yoke

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 92:1-15. Verses 12-14, if God regards me as a tree planted in him, what provision and protection can I always expect? What fruit does he intend and equip me to produce today?

Genesis 38:1-30. The tangled story of Tamar; see also Matthew 1:3. Judging by what is taught and done at my church, would someone conclude that sexual morality originates with God or with humankind?

Romans 1:1-17. Verse 16, unashamed of the gospel of Christ. How can I more fully live up to this standard in the ordinary routine of my life?

Matthew 11:25-30. What is the most difficult burden I am bearing right now? What’s specifically involved in yoking up with Jesus today so my load can be lightened?
