Bible Sunday 1/10: Who, me?

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 27:1-14. Verses 4 and 5 KJV, how will I behold God’s beauty today? How will I inquire in his temple? How will he hide me from trouble?

Genesis 10:1-32. Noah’s descendants repeople the earth, Ham and Japhet’s heathen clans, Shem’s Hebrew clan (Semites, see Luke 3:36). Why does anti-Semitism persist through the ages? What is it to me?

Hebrews 3:12-19. Verses 13-15, by what influences does a Christian become hardened, taking him out of fellowship with Jesus? What’s my defense against this?

Matthew 4:12-17. Verse 17, is the repentance Jesus requires a one-off, something I’ve already done, or is it an ongoing process? Looking back over the old year and ahead into the new, what do I need to repent of?
