Bible Thursday 1/14: Be Reconciled

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 32:1-11. Verses 8 and 9, when have I been, or in what way am I now, stubborn as a mule toward God? What would it look like for me to go through this day with a teachable spirit, attentive to him, biddable?

Genesis 14:1-24. Abram as a mighty warrior. Verse 20, what is my view of the tithe, giving God a tenth of all I receive?

Hebrews 7:1-10. Melchisedec, king and priest, neither born nor dying, senior to all the patriarchs. What difference does he make to me in the confusion that is 2021?

Matthew 5:21-32. Jesus’ hard teaching on anger, violence, lust, evildoing, and extreme measures to combat them. More applicable to other people than to me, right? Or is it?
