Bible Thursday 4/8: Shepherd and Sheep

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 91:1-16. Verse 1, how can I dwell in God’s secret place and still be out and about in the world as life requires? How can I be under his shadow and still present myself “as me” to other people each day?

Song of Solomon 5:1-16. Verse 6, what’s to be done in the dry or dark times when the Jesus who once seemed near now seems distant, disconnected from me, unapproachable, silent?

I Peter 2:18-25. Verse 25, what sheep qualities, good and bad, can I see in myself? What shepherd care, tender or stern, shall I pray to receive from Jesus today?

Luke 24:13-35. Verses 25-27, how do Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection gain value for me with their fulfillment of biblical prophecy?
