Bible Monday 6/14: Tempest Quelled

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 107:1-43. Verses 23-30, when has my life felt like a terrible storm at sea, and God calmed it? What was the haven or harbor he brought me into? What did I learn?

Leviticus 21:1-24. Rules for holiness of priests. How important is it that the pastors I serve under be in right standing with God?

Acts 7:37-50. Verse 38 KJV, church in the wilderness. How is my own church similar to that one with Moses at Sinai, both as to its assets and its liabilities? What does this require of me personally?

Mark 2:18-22. What exactly is the new wine that Jesus brings us? What might be the old bottles he wants us to stop using?
