Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 23:1-6. Verse 4, what shadowy valley am I passing through right now? How would I like to have God meet me there today?
Exodus 29:1-46. The Aaronic priesthood and its required offerings being no longer in effect, what sacrifice does God want from me today?
I Corinthians 9:11-18. Verse 16, Paul’s compulsion to preach the gospel. Who do I know that has a sense of urgency to proclaim Jesus? What have I to do with any of this?
John 8:48-59. Verse 58, one of Jesus’ most arresting “I am” statements. In believing this about him, how am I changed, how does today take on new possibilities?
