Bible Monday 6/21: Aflame

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 119:129-176. Verse 133 KJV, anticipating my activities this day, what are some missteps I might make if I’m not allowing God to order my steps?

Numbers 1:1-54. Census assesses the Israelites’ readiness for war. What exactly is the war that God wants me, my family, and my church to be ready for? What preparations does he require of us?

Acts 9:31-43. Peter heals a paralyzed man and raises a dead woman. What experiences did he have with Jesus that taught him what to think, say, and do in these crises? Can I learn some of the same?

Mark 4:21-29. Verse 21, God’s candle. What specific actions shall I take today to obey Jesus in this?
