Bible Tuesday 6/29: On This Rock

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 144:1-15. Verse 12, reflecting on the hopes I had for my children, what have I seen God do with them so far? Trusting he’s not finished, what’s my prayer for their next chapter?

Numbers 9:1-23. A cloud over the tabernacle, signaling stay or go. In what form or channel do I best sense God’s direction? Upon what matter do I particularly need that today?

Galatians 1:11-24. Verses 15-19, when have I drawn closer to God by withdrawing myself from people? Application for today?

Matthew 16:13-19. Verse 18, by what lines of attack are the forces of hell trying to destroy Jesus’ church right now? What can I learn from St. Peter about how to defeat that attack?
