Bible Thursday 7/15: On Fire

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 37:1-40. Verse 5, have I been dealing with something recently on the basis of too much self-reliance and not enough God-reliance?

Numbers 25:1-18. Mixed marriages offensive in God’s sight. Cultural differences aside, what is the lesson here for families and churches aspiring to honor and obey the Lord above all else?

Acts 18:1-17. Verses 3-7, Paul’s dual vocation, tent-making and convert-making. How well pleased is Jesus with the balance in my life between everyday activities and ministry activities?

Mark 10:1-12. Verses 4-8 KJV, easy divorce and hard hearts. Does my church take a more worldly approach to this painful issue, or a more Christly approach?
