Bible Thursday 8/5: Bread of Life

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 89:1-52. Verse 15 KJV, knowing the joyful sound. Exactly what sound is that? How will I hear it today? How will it make a difference in my day?

Hosea 10:1-15. Verse 12, if thoughts and actions are seeds in God’s economy, what crop have I been sowing of late? What must I do today to see the crop along toward harvest, or to uproot it and plant better?

II Peter 1:1-9. Verses 5-8, related, character qualities making for a fruitful Christian life. Which of these come least naturally to me? Action point for today?

Mark 14:22-31. Now so far away in space and time from that sad night, what does Jesus want me to know about the Eucharist? Is the Lord’s Supper highly important to me, quite important, or not so important?
