Bible Thursday 7/8: No Halfway God

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 19:1-14. Verse 14, how can I know if my words and thoughts today are up to God’s standard? How consistent am I in measuring myself by that standard?

Numbers 18:1-32. How God compensates his priests and ministers. Whom do I know that is getting by on modest means in the ministry? How can I help that person feel more valued and appreciated?

Acts 15:12-21. The early church wrestles with God’s intention for whom to include and exclude. How does that same issue confront my church right now? My role?

Mark 8:22-30. Jesus heals a blind man halfway, then all the way. Is there something where it feels the Lord hasn’t yet taken me all the way? Prayer point for today?
