Bible Sunday 8/22: Father of Lies

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 120:1-7. Verse 2, what are some lies told about me by the world, the flesh, and the devil, from which I will ask God to deliver me today?

Joshua 13:1-33. God’s precise instructions to Joshua for dividing the land among the tribes. What matter of concern shall I bring God today for his wise, unerring exactness of detail in my best interest?

Amos 4:6-13. How God teaches his slow-learning people with hard lessons. When have I been slow to learn and under his rod? Application for today?

Luke 4:1-15. Jesus defeats the devil’s deceptions with words from Scripture. What are some Bible truths with which I can arm myself for the battles of this day?
