Bible Sunday 1/30: Not Too Late

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 75:1-10, Verses 6 and 7, what individuals do I wish to see promoted or demoted for posts of power in our world today? Can I approach this by trusting God more and worrying less?

Deuteronomy 30:1-20. Verse 19, the life-and-death choice God gives us. Does he bring us to this fork in the road just once, or repeatedly every day? What does it look like in the often dull routine of my life?

Hebrews 12:12-17. Verse 16, related, Esau’s wrong choice. What are some bad bargains the world may offer me in 2022, tempting me to fail of God’s grace (verse 15)?

Matthew 9:18-26. His daughter having died, this father could have thought it was too late to call on Jesus, but he didn’t. How has the “too late” impulse of a faltering faith been talking to me recently?
