Bible Friday 10/28: God's Liberality

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 144:1-15. Verse 12, when a mother or father prays. What’s the most important prayer I can pray today for my children, or they for me? The most important prayer my parents ever prayed for me, or I for them?

Isaiah 2:1-22. Verses 11-18, when we express pride, is God pleased or displeased? How did this word, this concept, apparently reverse its meaning from Bible times to today?

James 1:1-11. Verses 5-8 KJ, am I a wavering or an unwavering Christian? Am I a double-minded or a single-minded Christian? What’s at stake? How shall I prove it today?

Luke 14:34-35. Why does Jesus want his followers to be salty? Who benefits? How shall I go about fulfilling that today?
