Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 115:1-18. Verse 14 KJV, does this mean God will increase me materially or spiritually? Is there a tradeoff? In what way would I most desire to have God increase me? Action point today?
Jeremiah 1:1-19. Verses 7-10, when has God enabled me to do something I thought was impossible for me? Present application?
Romans 6:15-23. Whose servant, or whose slave, am I? Answerable to sin, or answerable to God? Yesterday when put to the test, how did I do? What specific test might I have to face today? How to prepare?
Matthew 12:43-50. Verse 50, what are the benefits of having Jesus as my brother? What is the cost? This very day, in my specific situation, what would it look like for me to do the will of the Father all day?
