Bible Friday 3/18: Drink Ye All of It

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 42:1-11. Verse 2, as I thirst for God today, how will he satisfy that? What is it besides just words on a page or phrases in a prayer? When I appeal for him to show up, what am I really asking for?

Jeremiah 31:1-40. Verses 31-33, God’s new covenant with his people. What is he committed to do for me? What am I obligated to do for him? Action point for today?

Hebrews 8:1-13. Verse 6, related, why do I need Jesus as mediator of that covenant? How will I see him actively at work today, making the covenant operative?

Matthew 26:26-30. Nearing Good Friday and Easter day by day, how can I see deeper than ever before into my need for the Eucharist?
