Bible Thursday 3/24: Contentment

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 63:1-11. Verse 1, early will I seek thee. How can I do better today in making God my first thought at moments of need, not an afterthought?

Jeremiah 37:1-21. The prophet, bearer of hard words from God, is imprisoned again. What has my faith in Christ cost me so far? Will it get better in my lifetime, or worse?

I Timothy 6:1-10. Verse 6, what obstructs the contentment that God intends me to have today? Verse 10, how am I subtly influenced by the love of money?

Matthew 22:23-33. Verse 29, how has my Scripture reading today given me access to the power of God? What good things can I accomplish this day through that power?
