Bible Tuesday 3/22: You're Invited

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 55:1-23. Verse 17, do my daily times of prayer follow a pattern or come at random? If in a pattern, is it more of a groove or a rut? Action point?

Jeremiah 35:1-19. The Rechabites’ fidelity to a high standard puts the rest of Jerusalem to shame, says God. What’s commendable in my family heritage? What’s not? Are our ways God-given or merely cultural?

I Timothy 5:1-16. Care of widows. Is my church a 24/7 caring community, close-knit and warm, or a mostly-Sunday crowd? Action point?

Matthew 22:1-14. What excuses have I been making to Jesus? What are the consequences, now and in the future?
