Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 116:1-19. Verse 15, as we celebrate Jesus’ conquest of death for us all, whose memory shall I specially honor today, someone who has died in faith?
Ezekiel 3:1-27. God appoints Ezekiel a watchman over Israel, to warn the wicked and the righteous. Who holds this office for God’s people at present? How is it going? What are the stakes?
Mark 16:1-8. Verse 7, the resurrection angel singles out Peter. When has God given me a second or third chance that I didn’t deserve at all? How can I now pay that forward?
Mark 16:9-20. Verses 17 and 18, signs following for believers in the risen Christ. How can I literally or figuratively lay claim to these at this point in my life, for the glory of God?
