Bible Thursday 5/5: Hidden Treasure

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 9:1-20. Verse 13, what is my most urgent need for God’s mercy today?

Ezekiel 20:1-49. Verses 35-38, when have I felt that God was pleading with me, far more patiently than I deserved? What was the outcome?

I Corinthians 15: 29-34. Verse 32, how is the attitude of “life is short, death is final, indulge yourself” propagandized in today’s world? What is God’s antidote for me to live by?

John 5:36-47. Verses 39 and 46, if all 66 books of the Bible are somehow about Jesus, what difference should that make in the way I live?
