Bible Tuesday 5/3: Hitherto

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 1:1-6. Verses 1 and 2, what are some specific ways of the ungodly that He wants me to keep clear of today? What specific helps from God’s word can I meditate on instead?

Ezekiel 18:1-32. Verses 20 and 30, how does God’s affirmation of individual responsibility and rejection of collective responsibility address today’s theories of race-guilt? Is my church clear on this?

I Corinthians 15:12-19. How does the resurrection of Jesus make everything different for me on this day?

John 5:16-23. If I want to companion today with the Father and with the Son, what attitudes and actions does that require of me?
