Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 55:1-23. Verse 22, what burden seems heaviest for me right now? How do I go about casting it on the Lord while actively continuing to deal with it day by day?
Ezekiel 37:1-28. Valley of the dry bones. Where do I need to see such a move of the Spirit in my own life at present, or in my church or community or nation? What’s required of me in order to receive it?
I Corinthians 16:13-24. Verse 14, in facing today, where will I have the biggest challenge with Paul’s command that the Christian do all things with love? How can I get more love from Jesus when my own runs low?
John 9:13-23. The blind man is treated by Jesus as a soul to be set free. All others in the story, even the disciples, treat him more as a lab specimen. What’s the lesson for me in setting out to follow Jesus this week?
