Bible Tuesday 6/14: It is Finished

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 107:1-43. Verse 9 KJV, what are the symptoms of hunger in my soul? What does it long for? How can I specifically experience God’s response to that hunger today?

I Samuel 8:1-22. God warns Israel that monarchy will become tyranny. Does worldly politics command too much or too little of my church’s attention? My own attention? Action point?

I John 5:1-13. Verses 4 and 5, overcoming the world by faith in Jesus the Son. What do I particularly need to overcome in my situation at present?

John 19:25-37. Jesus provides for his mother from the cross. What place does the Virgin Mary have in my Christian life? Why does it matter?
