Bible Sunday 8/14: Saul Heads for Damascus

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 107:1-43. Verse 43 KJV, with God’s help today, what would it look like for me to be more observant, alert to all that’s going on around me, and more wise, judicious and tempered in all I say and do?

I Kings 14:1-31. Misgovernment of Judah and Israel grows worse and worse. Is my church clear that there is no political salvation? My role?

Acts 21:37-22:21. Paul tells the Jewish lynch mob about how Jesus upended his life. Who needs to hear my story of encountering Jesus, today or very soon?

Mark 14:1-11. Jesus, knowing he is soon to die, receives ointment from a follower. If I claim my love for the Lord is extravagant and unrestrained, what evidence of that can others notice in me?
