Bible Friday 9/30: Plowing Ahead

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 78:1-40. Verses 7 and 8, no matter how well or poorly my parents and their parents walked with God, what lessons can I learn from their experience and be even more faithful in my own walk?

Job 31:1-40. Verse 33, when have I sinned like Adam, disobeying God and then trying to hide from him? What did I learn? Application for today?

II Corinthians 12:1-13. Verses 9 and 10, what particular weakness in myself today throws me at Christ’s feet for strength?

Luke 9:57-62. What excuses have I been making to Jesus lately, seeking to evade the risks and sacrifices of radically following him?
