Bible Sunday 10/9: Not Self-Made

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 100:1-5. Verse 2, what are some ways in which I tend to think I’m self-made, forgetting it was God who made me and continues making me day by day?

Job 40:1-24. When have I felt like the object of God’s sharp displeasure? What did I learn?

Ezra 6:1-22. Verse 7, let this work of God’s house alone. What adversaries seek to hinder my church’s gospel work in our community, upon whom I can pray for God’s forceful restraining order today?

Luke 11:24-28. Related question, what would Jesus have me do for daily defense against demonic attacks whether open or hidden?
