Bible Tuesday 4/2: The Elder Brother's Voice

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 78:1-40. Verse 19, being really honest, do I have a problem right now that I’m not sure God is willing or able to help me with?

Song of Solomon 3:1-11. When has it seemed I was far separated from God? How did he show up? Application to present needs?

I Corinthians 5:1-13. Verses 6-8, what’s the old leaven, the hidden hangover of sin, that I want to be rid of so that I can fully experience new life in Christ Jesus?

John 20:11-18. Verse 16, what must it have been in the voice of the risen Lord that suddenly enabled Mary to recognize him? If Jesus quietly calls me by name today, how will I recognize that call amid all the world’s clamor?
