Bible Thursday 10/23: Who is Willing?

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 130:1-8. Verses 3 and 4, what is the worst offense I ever committed against God? How can I be sure he has forgiven me? How can I show him my gratitude today?

I Chronicles 29:1-30. David initiates the building of the temple by a unified people under his heir, Solomon. What unifying endeavor, for the glory of God, is my church devoted to right now?

Philippians 2:19-30. Related, an example of how the church was built in New Testament times. What qualities of Paul’s lieutenants, Timothy and Epaphroditus, shall I ask God to endow in me today?

Luke 18:18-23. What earthly treasures—money or whatever—is Jesus telling me to let go of, in order that I may have treasure in heaven with him?
