Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 96:1-13. Verse 9, how can I express the beauty of holiness by what I say and do today? How can I experience the beauty of holiness in other people and the world around me? How does this glorify Gof?
Nahum 3:1-19. Nineveh laid waste; the bloody city full of lies and robbery. Am I aroused against wickedness and iniquity or passively indifferent to them? Am I on God’s side today, or neutral?
Revelation 18:9-20. With Babylon’s fall, all the false beauty of unholiness is swept away. Am I ready to relinquish all this and enter the kingdom of God?
Luke 10:17-20. What use shall I make today of the power Jesus has given me over all the power of the enemy? How shall I express the joy of knowing my name is written in heaven?
