Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 84:1-12. Verse 7, how can it be that in relying on God I go from strength to strength, when so much of the time I feel weak, weary, worried, outmatched? How can I grow stronger in Him today?
Esther 6:1-14. Haman’s evil plan begins to turn back upon himself. When has my patient fidelity to God, like Mordecai’s, brought unexpected rewards? Application to present needs?
Revelation 16:1-11. Five angels defeat the beast and exalt the Lord. If Jesus returns today, what do I want him to find me doing?
Luke 9:43-50. Yesterday did I spend more time pursuing my own greatness or loving children as Jesus did? How can I do better today?
