Bible Saturday 12/13: Writing on the Wall

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 107:1-43. Verses 28-30, when has God brought me safely through the storm, as if on a perilous voyage, and into a quiet harbor? Application to present needs?

Daniel 5:1-31. Nebuchadnezzar’s son, succeeding him but having learned nothing, dies and the Medes take his throne. What writing is on the wall for America’s ruling elites, if we look with the sight God gives?

I Thessalonians 2:1-12. Verse 7, who gently nursed me and cherished me when I was newborn in the faith? Verse 11, who patiently took charge of me with fatherly firmness? Who now needs the same care from me?

Luke 11:14-26. Do I take spiritual warfare and the threats from unseen devils as seriously as Jesus wants me to? How can I obtain from him the help of the finger of God (verse 20) in defeating Satan today?
