Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 29:1-11. Verse 2, how will the beauty of holiness in me be noticeable to others as I go through this day serving God?
Exodus 24:1-18. Aaron and the Israelites glibly promise to obey God, but we know they will soon fall away. When have my words of loyalty given way to self-seeking actions? Present application?
I Corinthians 10:23-11:1. Verses 24 and 33, today how can I find an occasion to seek the other person’s wealth and profit, not my own, and so make them better acquainted with Jesus?
John 7:10-24. Verse 17 was cited by C.S. Lewis as one of the keys to his gradually accepting Christ. What would it look like for me to put more weight on active obedience and less on speculative theology?
