Bible Saturday 6/21: The Madness of Crowds

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 119:129-176. Verse 164, how many times yesterday did I reach out to God with praise and prayer? Or is there no point in counting?

Leviticus 24:1-23. Verses 2 and 9, spiritually considered, what does it mean that God wants me to keep a perpetual flame burning for him on the altar of my heart? How am I doing?

Acts 6:1-15. What made Stephen so powerful in faith, so irresistibly persuasive, so angelically attractive? If I set out to be more like him, what steps should I take?

John 19:1-16. How does Pilate’s injustice to Jesus warn Christians against expecting too much from worldly politics?
