Bible Monday 7/21: The Great Physician

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 55:1-23. Verse 22, what am I feeling burdened about today? What would it look like to cast that burden on the Lord right now? How would this differ from simple escapism, passivity, or irresponsibility?

Numbers 27:1-23.-Verse 18, God appoints Joshua to succeed Moses. Have I been seeing important kingdom work to be done, and apparently no one to do it? Can I trust God not to leave his sheep unshepherded?

Acts 16:1-10. Related, God pairs Timothy with Paul as a resource for proclaiming the gospel. Who has come into my life by divine appointment so that we may support each other in serving Jesus?

Mark 6:53-56. Am I ready here and now, this very day, to receive what the healing Christ can do for me and for my loved ones in pressing need?
