Bible Friday 7/11: Paul in the Pulpit

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 31:1-24. Verse 15, my times are in your hand. In what way am I tempted to believe that, for me, time-past or time-future is beyond God’s control?

Numbers 17:1-13. God causes Aaron’s rod to bud, affirming his priestly supremacy. What fears or doubts about the one true church have troubled me recently? Do I really think the Lord’s arm is shortened?

Acts 13:13-25. Paul’s first recorded sermon. Who needs to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ from me today?

Mark 4:21-25. Related, how can my candle—the salvation I’ve received—be less hidden under a basket today and more lifted hign on a candlestick?
