Bible Sunday 9/7: What a Word

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 19:1-14. Verse 12, secret faults. When has God showed me a blind spot, an area of self-deception he needed to cleanse from me? What blind spot might be hindering my spiritual growth right now?

Judges 4:1 -24. Deborah and Jael, vaiiant soldiers of God. Who is a woman I’ve known personally that inspires me as a leader and a fighter in the army of the Lord?

II Corinthians 7:13-8:7. Verse 2, what opportunity can my church find to convert its affliction and lack into a lavish outpouring of generosity for fellow Christians in need, both near and far?

Luke 4:31-37. In what form do unclean spirits and demon-possession show up in modern everyday life? How can I and my church go about defeating these in our community—as Jesus did?
