Bible Wednesday 1/14: Humongous

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 36:1-12. Verses 5-9, is my picture of God too small, too distant, too colorless, too abstract, too drab? What am I missing out on?

Deuteronomy 3:1-29. Verse 26, God instructs Moses that it will be Joshua, not he, that leads Israel into the Promised Land. When has God firmly shut a door I wanted to enter? What did I learn?

Hebrews 6:4-12. Verse 6, what actions do we see taken by some so-called Christians these days that amount to crucifying Jesus all over again? What is my church doing about it?

Matthew 5:17-20. How can I take all the Old Testament laws and commandments as seriously as Jesus did and still not be tangled in legalism?
